This hand-carved lovespoon is inspired by the Holy Week, using floriography and Christian symbolism to portray Christ’s final days, crucifixion and Resurrection. It's carved from a single piece of limewood, with black walnut and cherry incorporated into the design, that are also a single piece.

The Passion flower represents Christ’s crucifixion: its corona symbolise the crown of thorns, three stigmas the three nails, five anthers the five wounds of Christ, and ten petals the ten faithful disciples, excluding Judas and Peter.

Two palm leaves represent Palm Sunday.

Easter Lily, with its trumpet-shaped flower, announces the Resurrection.

Wheat and grapes symbolise the bread and wine of the Last Supper.

Lily of the Valley represents the tears of the Virgin Mary at the foot of the Cross.

The rose represents the blood of Christ.

Dark and light woods portray good and evil.

Butterfly represents transformation, rebirth, and eternal life through the Resurrection.
